The Non-Beauty Side of Me: My Love for Running

Today let’s talk about something non-beauty. Avid Instagram followers of mine will know by now that I am into running. It is something that I have not talk about here in Street Love because this is afterall a beauty blog. But I thought I would tell you about this lifestyle of mine 😀 . When I started posting more and more running selfies, I get questions like “are you one of those blogger turning the blog into another direction?”. The answer is NO. I get it. I do. I have seen beauty blogger turning into mummy blogger after they had a kid, lifestyle blogger turning into food blogger or beauty blogger turning into sports blogger when they adopted running. So I get what you mean. My main passion (still is!) is anything and everything beauty. Running is just a part of my lifestyle. I do not foresee Street Love turning into a sports blog at all 😉 . I have Modern Mavens for that remember? I am proud of Street Love and proud to introduce myself as a beauty enthusiast 🙂

Let’s be frank here. I am not a tea person. I love my coffee. Tea? Well, I am okay with a cup or two once in a while when I am not feeling well but I would prefer to hold a coffee mug. You know what? Lifestyle Sunday: Shell Electric Run 2016 Post-Run Report

I have been running for quite a bit. Most of my running event participation as you’re aware are mainly focusing on charitable runs 🙂 . The only non-charitable running event I participated is the Nike We Run KL 2016 21km run, which is my first memorable half marathon run that I should blog about but I chose not to. I did however share some of the lessons learnt on my other site Modern Mavens. Click this link if you want to read on it 🙂

This Shell Electric Run 2016 however I must blog about. It is my first night run, my first Shell Electric Run, and also my first most epic wet, slippery, muddy, and slushy run. And of course it is a charitable run as well as I was running not for Shell but for Rexona who partnered with Electric Run to raise RM100,000 for five disability charities.

Let’s go easy with the beauty and talk about some other happy place today. Floristika. Yes, it’s a happy place.

Growing up, I never like receiving flowers. I thought it is a waste of money. I never like having flowers sent to my office, having jealous pairs of eyes staring at me, having strangers looking over as I brought the bouquet of flowers to my car or when taking the LRT (I took LRT to work last time). Nope. Hate that. Don’t like it at all. But…I do like to buy flowers for myself to have it in my room and the living space. I have a God-sister who is a florist during my secondary school so I would buy a stalk of white rose everyday. I remember growing up wanting to have a floral arrangement business just like hers because I get so happy being surrounded with fresh flowers.
