Clarins Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact: Perfect contour color for the hairline, too muddy for cheekbones

I may be setting my foot into Clarins for their skin care line but Clarins do come out with impressive makeup line over the years. Clarins company in Malaysia used to carry both skin care line and makeup line until two years ago where the company decided to pull out their makeup line from every other normal counters and only a few high traffic counters is still selling the makeup line. However, these available counters will only be selling existing best selling products like foundations and lipsticks. The company doesn’t have the intention to bring in new shades, new collection or limited edition. It’s rather disappointing as this is the time I’m really into makeup. It’s even more disappointing when international Clarins releases super gorgeous limited edition piece such as this Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact. Well, it’s suppose to be limited edition but I still see this item for sale online. Mine is made in 2012 judging from the batch code and I only bought this a few months ago…in 2014! Not so limited edition after all 😛

Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact
The truth is, even if Clarins Malaysia is still bringing in new makeup collection, I doubt they will bring this Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact in. Let’s face it. We Malaysians are just not into bronzing or contouring the face. We lived in an Asian country that are into having the fairest skin of all, not the other way round. Being an Asian Chinese and being someone that is constantly catching up to the international trend (I do mean rebellious), I finally realized why Caucasians like to contour and warm up their complexion. The face structure indeed look more dimensional with chiseled cheekbones and jawline. I am totally hooked! You can read about how I contour my face at this link 😀

BH Cosmetics Make Up - Eyes Make Up - Face Review: Make Up That's Heart

That’s Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette: My first impression and swatches

When Judy of It’s Judy Time launched her co-created It’s Judy Time Eyeshadow Palette with BH Cosmetics end of 2013, she launched it together with another YouTuber ThatsHeart with her co-created That’s Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette. Both of the palette have been in my wish list for so many months. I managed to get It’s Judy Time Eyeshadow Palette in April 2014 and I finally gotten my hands on That’s Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette just a few weeks ago. Andddddd of course nothing in my life comes without any drama. This highly anticipated palette comes with a drama as you all know.

Some of you emailed me for a review on the palette. You know who you are and thank you for the request 🙂 . Initially I didn’t want to tear off the shrink wrap packaging of all my BH Cosmetics palette because I still have a pending case with ABX. They took forever to respond to my email(s) and so I’ve decided to just went ahead with this first impression and swatches review.

That's Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette v3
If you’ve been watching Heart’s YouTube channel, you would have know that the design of her palette is really representing her style. The huge pink heart with lace bother on the front cover matches with her YouTube handle name. I am personally a fan of anything with a heart design. When I told my friends that I’m buying That’s Heart Eyeshadow & Blush Palette, their reaction was “oh that is so you” 😀 . Yes, I am a sucker for cute, pretty packaging, anything pink, anything lace, anything with heart and anything that is girly.

Event Make Up - Face Review: Make Up Shu Uemura

Shu Uemura The Lightbulb Oleo-Pact Foundation: Buildable, streak-free with dewy satin coverage thanks to its dome-shaped sponge. But, does it work on oily combination skin?

I have an obsession going on for a few beauty products at the moment, as I mentioned before in a blog post a week ago. One of it is foundation in any form, be it liquid, powder, cream or stick foundation. I couldn’t find any cream compact foundation or it could be that I wasn’t aware where to get any here so I ordered one online. Imagine me doing the happy dance when I found out that Shu Uemura will be launching a new cream compact foundation, The Lightbulb Oleo-Pact Foundation coming September 2014. And guess who get to try it out earlier than the public release date 😀

Shu Uemura The Lightbulb Oleo-Pact Foundation

The Story Behind The Lightbulb Legend

The Lightbulb phenomena started with Shu Uemura first launched The Lightbulb Fluid Foundation back in 2013. The foundation has quickly became an icon for the brand. Inspired by Shu Uemura’s expertise in Asian skin and professional tools,  The Lightbulb Fluid Foundation is favoured for its ability to create a beautiful “glowing skin canvas”. Combining The Lightbulb™ Oleo-Technology with a tool is none other than Shu Uemura’s unique ‘the lightbulb’ shaped sponge that was inspired by the brand’s makeup artists expertise and experience as well as the tapping motion of traditional Japanese kabuki brushes. Then, Shu Uemura launched The Lightbulb UV Compact just a few months ago. This new powder foundation is also formulated with The Lightbulb™ Oleo-Technology for glow and coverage. When used together with an original double-sided polishing sponge and with added The Lightbulb™ Pearl, you get a polish up yglow for a flawless complexion without a powdery look.

Etude House Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Etude House Etoinette Heart Blusher in PK001: Pretty packaging, unique concept and most importantly works like a charm

On September last year, I bought not one but two Etude House Etoinette Heart Blusher for RM49.90 each as it was on sale from it’s original price of RM159.90. I didn’t want to buy it when it’s on RM159.90 because I think it’s quite pricey for Etude House. Furthermore I couldn’t find it anywhere as everyone went crazy over it. Boy am I glad I didn’t cave it to my impulsiveness otherwise I’d be kicking myself for paying full retail price for it 😀

Ever since I bought it, believe it or not it has been sitting in my drawer until last week when out of no where I thought of my Etude House Etoinette Heart Blusher. I remember I wanted to take some photos of it before using (typical blogger) but somehow that slipped out of my mind. Before you girls come after me for reviewing what was supposed to be a Limited Edition item, hang on to your horses because I have a very good reason for it. I decided that I could still tell you about this because two months ago I spot it at Etude House Berjaya Times Square. Now, that sort of explained why you’re reading this. YOU CAN MIGHT STILL ABLE TO HUNT FOR THIS *grins*

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer in Cool Medium 2: Good for covering marks but creases on the under eye

What I notice lately on the beauty scene is that everyone is raving on two concealer – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer. NARS is on the high price side and when Collection Cosmetics was launched, beauty bloggers as well as YouTubers start to go cray cray over Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer saying that it’s actually a cheaper alternative dupe of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I, on the other hand never use any concealer before as I don’t have dark eye circles as a result of getting at least 8-9 hours of well-rested beauty sleep every night. Now that I only sleep 4-5 hours max, I find myself stumbling searching for a concealer suitable for me. Last weekend out of the blue I wanted to get my paws on Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer. And so I did.

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer
When I walked into Watsons KLCC and headed straight to Collection Cosmetics shelf, I saw a BA standing there and I thought hey that’s great. I can get her to help me choose the right shade for me. It turns out I was just hoping too much. I told her that I need the lightest shade and she handed me the tester for Light 2. She doesn’t seems to answer my question properly for example I ask her if this concealer will crease on the under eye and her answer to me was “yes it can be used on acne marks”. LOL. After I made my payment only I notice I was holding Cool Medium 2 tube. I went back to her telling her that she have gotten me the wrong shade and she told me there’s only 2 shades available – Cool Medium 2, which is the new packaging for Light 2 and another darker shade which I couldn’t remember what is the shade name. Well, too late to regret because I’ve already paid.

iHerb Make Up - Face Physicians Formula Review: Make Up

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation & Brush SPF 15 in Light: One of the kind Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Foundation. Love the flawless finishing and oil control, hate the awful scent

Physicians Formula has always been a brand that I’ve wanted to try ever since I started watching YouTube a few months ago but because it is not available locally here in Malaysia, I never get the chance to. What’s in my wishlist? Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush and Bronze Booster of course! 🙂

When I think of it, it’s odd that I never wanted to watch YouTube at all previously. I don’t get how my ex-employer could spend half a day watching YouTube, researching for editorial materials. Now that I’m hooked to YouTube, my wishlist for international brand is getting larger and larger. Thanks to iHerb.com, I can finally get my paws on a bottle of Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation & Brush SPF 15 that was first introduced by Judy on It’sJudysTime YouTube channel back in January 2014.

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation & Brush
To add more excitement to how well-received this foundation serum is, whaddaya know…the foundation comes with a small slanted flat top Pro Blending Brush. The below photo is how Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation & Brush came through the mail. The foundation glass bottle and brush was securely cushioned and densely packed into a clear base in the box. iHerb.com did not bubble wrap it. I’m glad nothing broke and nothing was leaking. I trust iHerb but I don’t trust the postman 😛
