Beauty Products That Didn't Work Clarins Hiruscar Review: Make Up Review: Skin Care Urban Decay

“Sorry” Products aka Beauty Products That Didn’t Work – Part 1

I have always been lucky with most skin care and makeup products. I’m born with a skin that suits every skin care range from hydrating to whitening to brightening as well as anti-aging, which I felt blessed with despite having a not so perfect complexion. While I have been introducing you to beauty products that are good and works on me, I however do stumble upon highly raved products that does not do a bit good on my skin as claimed.

I had a beauty stash spring cleaning early January so I have thrown away most of the not-so-good products but I kept these three products.

Review: Antipodes Hungry Like The Wolf Blood-Red Natural Lipstick – Putting on a Creamy, Matte with a Shine Bloody Red Lips for Valentine’s Day

I don’t usually wear blood red lipstick but since it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, why not eh? So I took out my Antipodes Hungry Like The Wolf Blood-Red Natural Lipstick that is still in it’s box, apply it on my lips and I looked like one blood sucker vampire that’s hungry for another round of fresh blood, as hungry as a wolf 😀

I’m kidding. Vampire don’t have a blood red lips on. They usually have almost black lips. Antipodes Hungry Like The Wolf shade is sexy on me don’t you think so? 😛

No, I’m not pulling my hair off haha! Truth to be told, I was intimidated with a blood red lipstick mainly because it wasn’t a shade that I would wear or a shade that I can put on as everyday lipstick. Previously Antipodes has three lipstick from their Aroha Natural Mineral Lipstick Collection which is more on the earthy, darker red side. Just early November 2013, Antipodes released Lipstick To Rock Your World Collection that consist of three lipstick shade namely Hit Me With Your Best Shot which is a fuchsia pink, April Sun In Cuba which is a reddish orange shade and Hungry Like The Wolf which is a blood red shade.

Review: ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder, Not a Must-Have But It’s Good to Have

The fact is, I’ve been eyeing on ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder everytime I’m at Watsons for the past few years. It’s always a “buy or don’t buy” question I ask myself because Groovy Smoovy is such a small face powder but with a higher price tag. I really couldn’t justify the price I’m paying against the size of the product. Really. I’ve lost count on those days where Groovy Smoovy was on 50% sales but the manufacturing date is like two years ago? So yeah, that sort of hold me back from purchasing ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder.

Besides that I couldn’t figure out if I needed this. It may look like a face powder but in fact this Groovy Smoovy is an oil-blotting powder. You see. A few years ago I don’t carry any makeup with me once I left the house with makeup on. I don’t do touch up during the mid day at all. Now that I carry a few makeup products with me when I’m out, I still don’t have the habit of touching up the powder on my face due to the obvious reason – oily skin. So the “buy or don’t buy” dilemma continued for a good few years 😛

Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up ZOEVA

Review: ZOEVA Eyeshadow Fix – Matte provide a nude canvas while Pearl gives a lovely sheen to any metallic or pearly eyeshadow

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! 😀

We are now into the 5th day of Lunar New Year. How time flies eh? Hope you are enjoying your celebration with all the yummy food, house visiting, meeting family and friends and of course all the angpow (Chinese translation for red packet) collecting for those that are still single. It sure is one hot and heaty Lunar New Year as usual. I totally love the pre-CNY weather of clear, bright blue sky a month before the Lunar New Year. It only happen once a year so I’m not complaining on the hot weather at all. Just embracing it 🙂

This will be a good time to tell you about this amazing eyeshadow primer that I have been using for the past few months. And this ZOEVA Eyeshadow Fix had been put to a tough test throughout this Lunar New Year weather.

Review: SKIN79 Complete CC Cream Correct, Uniquely for it’s Triple Action Formula on Whitening, UV Interception and Wrinkle Improvement

Still on the CC Cream craze, I absolutely are not aware that SKIN79, the brand that are famous for their BB Cream came out with Complete CC Cream range that consists of two variant. My oily skin doesn’t appreciate BB Cream much and only CC Cream tamed the oiliness down therefore I am more than glad that SKIN79 have CC Cream now 🙂

Between both CC Cream variant – Control (Orange font) and Correct (Pink font), I chose SKIN79 Complete CC Cream Correct. Initially my choice would be Control but later on I found out that it doesn’t have make-up effect so I decided on Correct instead 🙂

For those that are new here, you might be curious on the difference between a BB Cream and CC Cream. BB Cream is makeup product while CC Cream is skin care + makeup. SKIN79 Complete CC Cream Correct contain a thin Korean skin care product and light foundation properties in it. Most CC Cream function as primer for BB Cream or foundation. This SKIN79 Complete CC Cream Correct is not exceptional either.
