BB Cream Guerlain Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Review: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB Beauty Booster, A BB Cream That Goes On and Finishes Like a Foundation

I have to admit. I’m not a fan of BB Cream. Whenever someone told me that she only use nothing but BB Cream, I gave them a yuck look. It’s funny when I think of it. It’s the Korean that first came out with BB Cream and it was also the product that was made famous by the Korean. Somehow I feel that Korean BB Cream just doesn’t work well on me. I do have a favourite Korean BB Cream mind you but I would prefer Western version of BB Cream anytime.

It is not a secret that I’m a fan of the brand Guerlain. Back in April 2013 I posted up a sneak peek on Guerlain’s upcoming BB Cream release – Lingerie de Peau BB Beauty Booster. It’s about time I share with you what I think after using the BB Cream for a good few months. Can this Western BB Cream change my mind on BB Cream overall? Will this Western BB Cream be any better than Korean BB Cream? We’ll see 😀

Guerlain Lingerie De Peau BB Beauty Booster 1
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB Beauty Booster packing is really luxe. The tube is tall, slim, and comes with well-made cap and dispensing nozzle. I like that the Beauty Booster comes with a pump nozzle, not screw-cap type of packaging. With the pump nozzle I can control the amount I needed to pump out so there is no wastage here and I can even pump out bit by bit to top up as needed during application. So convenient 😀

AUPRES Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Review: Contour, Blush and Highlight With AUPRES Dimensional Face Creator

It is pretty normal for Asian not into contouring their face, unlike Caucasian whereas contouring and highlight is a part of their makeup regime. I am certainly not into bronzing or contouring my face. I grew up in a beauty society that the fairer and brighter your complexion, the better it is. Which explains why Asian (and me) are into whitening products and highlighting / illuminating.

Many years ago I bought a blush + contour palette so I started applying the contour powder onto my jaw line. Well, that’s where I was told it should be. Let’s just say it turns out horrible when I looked into the mirror as I saw a huge brown patch from my jawline to upper neck. The rest of my face and neck are fair. So much so for trying to have a slimmer face :D. I don’t have a wide face at that time to begin with. But that soon was changed when I was diagnosed with a rather serious early stage of Hyperthyroidism. My face and body now are the result of 4 years of intensive medication. At this point of time I’m slowly recovering and gaining back my previous look before medication. It’s a painfully slow process.

Here’s a confession. I’ve been slacking off everything recently because I was hooked to You Tube. Gosh these videos can be addictive ya’know. I notice all the beauty You Tubers are into contouring their face with a bronzer. I absolutely love the after-contour look but I thought it looks weird especially on the side. One day while looking into the mirror in my office’s washroom, I thought my face and makeup looked flat. My curiosity in contouring was building up day by day and I wanted to give dimension to my look. I guess I was lucky because I have AUPRES Dimensional Face Creator #RD1 sitting in my drawer. That’s when all the craziness started.

Aupres Dimensional Face Creator 1
AUPRES Dimensional Face Creator was launched a few months ago back in August 2013. I was one of the lucky one to get this palette a month before it was launched, thanks to a pampering event co-organized by MIVVA and AUPRES. This beautiful palette has been sitting in my drawer unused because I have not taken any picture of it. So once in a while I’ll take this out and admire the floral print on top of the blushes, highlighter and contour powder.

Canmake Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Review: Natural-Looking Flushed Cheeks with Canmake Cream Cheek

Powder blushes is undeniably the most common and easiest to work with type of blush available in the market. Personally I would choose powder blush over any type of texture. I didn’t say this because I am a cream blushes virgin. I’m not :). I’ve won one from a reputable brand before. I’m not sure if it’s me or it’s the blush texture but that one failed on me. The cream was so dry that it is almost impossible to apply on the cheeks.

I’ve since waved a white flag on cream blushes and only uses powder blushes. Now, now. It is undeniably as well that there is one particular brand that came out with cream blushes and it is quite a hit I must say. What? You’ve not heard about Canmake Cream Cheek before? Good then. Let me briefly tell you about this cute lil pot.

Canmake Cream Cheek1
I’ve seen a few types of cream blushes. This one by Canmake is a melting-gel type that comes in a clear, plastic pan. The claim on what this blush give is as sweet as the candy. Canmake said that by wearing this Cream Cheek, you are creating a complexion that exudes health from deep within the skin. It simply means that your cheek will looked like a naturally flushed cheek therefore resembling a fountain of happiness. You know how some people are born with good, fair skin that their cheeks are flushing all the time? Yeah that’s what it meant. I wasn’t exaggerating. Try looking at Canmake website 😀

Burberry Make Up - Lips Review: Make Up

Review: Burberry Lip Velvet, The Best Hydrating Matte Lipstick. Ever.

I have had these Burberry Lip Velvet lipstick duo which I bought back in April 2013 for quite a few months now. I’ve never stuck on to a lipstick for so long and Burberry Lip Velvet is the only one that I used daily since I bought it. The days where shiny, shimmery lipstick rule the world are over for me :D. Matte lippie is IN!

When I went over to the only Burberry Beauty counter at Isetan KLCC, the BA was so thoughtful that he is quite concern if I would even use the lipstick. I suppose that’s because I have not even touch my previous haul of Sheer Foundation and Light Glow Blusher 😀

Burberry Lip Velvet 1.1
Burberry Lip Velvet is inspired by the most opulent of English fabrics. It gives the lips a velvety matte radiance finishing. All my life I’ve been avoiding matte lipstick because it accentuate my dry, chapped lips. It’s horrible. But Burberry claimed to differ. Lip Velvet is a combination of nourishing oils and gel dispersed pigment. So it’s extremely lightweight and I promise you that you will not even feel the oil on your lips. Ingredients such as triglycerides and wild rose promise to give an intense moisture as well as long lasting color payoff. In a nutshell, you will get a moisturizing matte lipstick with superb color payoff!

Make Up - Face Review: Make Up RMK

Review: RMK Pressed Powder N #03, 4 Different Textures Setting Powder To Perfect & Enhance Complexion

RMK Pressed Powder N has always been in my to-buy list ever since I had my first RMK makeover last year and I finally got my hands on it a few months ago. It took me this long because it’s one hell of an expensive finishing powder! As I said in an earlier post before this, I love stocking up on finishing powder. The plus point in getting this RMK Pressed Powder N is that it’s refillable, a major cost reduction on long run 😀

There are five different shade to choose from. I chose #03 which bears a tiny blue square on the top right. I’ll tell you why later on 😉

RMK Pressed Powder N1
RMK in my opinion has the simplest, nicest silver matte surface casing. The kind that I appreciate very much. Even though so, this RMK Pressed Powder N double-decked compact is quite bulky. It’s quite small in size but thick. And RMK have a very good reason for that.

Make Up - Face Random Review: Make Up Special Feature

I Said I Am Not A Blush Fiend But My Collection Said The Otherwise

Blush fiend is a term I learnt from other fellow international beauty bloggers recently. The term blush fiend simply means blush collector / adorer / lover / hoarder :D. I am certainly not someone that hoard blushes. I would say I am a finishing powder hoarder as I always stock up on finishing powder regardless compact, 2-way, loose or pearl. Just not blushes.

Well, that was then. Recently whenever I saw a new collection out, I always went for the blush instead. I find it hard for me to hit the pan of the powder nowadays as I have implemented liquid foundation into the base makeup routine therefore I use much lesser powder. So the only makeup item I could think of buying to fix my beauty craving is blush! It was unintentional. By the time I realized I had turned into a blush fiend, I ended up with these.

I am not a blush fiend but I guess my collection said the otherwise?

😀
