Review: The Face Shop Auto Eyebrow Pencil

After a few Missha Automatic Eyebrow Pencil, I switched back to The Face Shop. I didn’t have time to wait for a week for Missha delivery so the best alternative is TFS.

Besides rude SA, I was suprised to see the holder of the eyebrow pencil has changed from pretty light green with flower print to just plain beige.

The Face Shop Auto Eyebrow Pencil – NP RM19.90, after current 10% discount is RM17.90.

I got myself Dark Brown colour.

TFS products is Made In Korea. Same with Missha as well.

I have no idea what is it with “Lovely ME:EX” on the pencil.

A brush is included at one end of the pencil. Which is same with Missha as well. I hardly use this actually.

Brand new lead fresh from the pencil. The tip is not narrowly shaped for easy drawing.

Comparison between Missha and TFS. Both is dark brown. As Missha is used, the colour appears here is more softer. TFS lead is new and not narrowly shaped for first application so the colour appears more stiff and harsh.

Here’s how it looks like when I used it for the first time today.

My Personal Review:-
Maybe due to my recent change in skincare, my face appears more supple and hydrated therefore Missha’s automatic eyebrow pencil doesn’t stay put. The colour used to stay longer on my skin though. No doubt about it. Nowadays when I accidentally swipe my hair from my face, the colour will be wiped off too. As the price of Missha’s is only RM9, I would have purchase it if I could received the parcel fast. Otherwise TFS is equally good too.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review. I bought the product on my own.

The Face Shop 5P Eyeshadow Brush

After lunch, my colleague Melissa wanted to get some stuff at The Face Shop and I tagged along. I was fascinated by their affordable Xmas sets but I didn’t get any. I used to spend a lot at TFS and this time I refrain myself from browsing as I fear I might spend on things which I don’t need. When she was about to pay for her purchases, I remembered that I need a smaller eyeshadow brush and their brush section is exactly next to their cashier counter. I had a very weird conversation with the BA on the brush. She’s nice though. And friendly.

Me: Is this the smallest eyeshadow brush you have?
BA: Oh yes
Me: Do you have a size bigger than this?
BA: Yes we do *shows me the brush*
Me: Oh I want this
BA: It’s sold out though
Me: *slap forehead*
Me: *shows BA the brush* why is the bristle hard and looks like lip liner brush?
BA: Cause it’s new
Me: Will the bristle be like a “C” shape after some time?
BA: Yes it will but will take a long time to soften and loose. You got to wash with hot water
Me: Huh? Hot water? Even if I wash with brush cleaner and use quite frequent the bristle will still be hard?
BA: Yes. It’ll be stiff like that
Me: That’s weird. Nvm. I want this

What’s weird is I took out the brush and use my finger to loosen the bristle and immediately it’s loosen and the “C” shape is visible! The downside is the glue which glued the bristle together is already harden like hell and it flew off everywhere! When I got home, I washed the brush with brush cleaner and the brush looks like eyeshadow brush now. Not anywhere near of what the BA told me.

This is how the brush look like after I loosen the bristle.

The glue is still pretty much intact.

TFS eyeshadow brush comparison with my current ELF eyeshadow brush.

The Face Shop is currently having sales. This 5P eyeshadow brush is retailing at RM17.90 and after 30% discount will be RM12.53.
