I was lucky to be invited to GLOW magazine launch event at Bedroom, Pavilion by the wonderful people at Watsons. GLOW is a health and beauty magazine published quarterly by Watsons Malaysia with the help of ACP magazine. It is selling at RM3 for non-member and just RM2 for Watsons member.
Door gift, autographed copy of GLOW by Fish Leong & polaroid picture taken at entrance. Note: My friend accompanied me along to the event. He’s a long time friend and not my bf ok? LOL |
I joined Watsons Facebook wall page contest and the price is a copy of GLOW magazine autographed by none other than the cover girl and the ambassador of Pure Beauty; Fish Leong.
I was gifted with Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Skincare Gift Set after registering at the entrance.
Did you know that Pure Beauty is by Watsons and it’s made in Korea? |
Nicely packed. |
I received Pomegranate Antioxidant 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser 100ml, Toner 170ml and Gel Cream 30ml. |
I was called on stage for prize presentation and the lovely lady; Sarah Cheow presented me with the prize.

Thank you Watsons Malaysia for inviting me. Looking forward to the next event!
Drove to KLCC on Saturday. I haven’t been to KLCC for a month now. Kinda curious at the magazines in Kinokuniya. I had flu the night before and thank goodness the flu subsided. Although there’s a book fair happening at the convention centre, I couldn’t afford to walk all the way there and back while under the influence of flu meds.
First stop is of course Kinokuniya at 4th floor. I like to walk from the top to the bottom and not the other way. I wanted to pick up japanese magazine WITH which comes with Tiffany & Co letter set. The magazine cost about RM45+ but I don’t like the stamping on it which says “Special Collaboration for 2011” so I put it back. I picked up September 2011 issue of Malaysian Women’s Weekly instead which cost just RM5.80 and a book by Elizabeth Gilbert; Eat Pray Love for RM37.50. I hope to find some inspiration from the book although watching the movie Sex and The City 2 on Saturday night inspires me a lot.
Here’s the buy of the day. Not much I know. If it’s weren’t because of the Smurf books are so damn thin and expensive, I’d have gotten it LOL.
Malaysian Women’s Weekly (Sept’11) – RM5.80 Eat Pray Love – RM37.50 |
The weirdest thing is I tried searching for this book at MPH and Borders some time back but to no avail. I wonder where they hide this book. Although many had said the prices at Kinokuniya is slightly higher but I find the place calming and the books are easy to find!
Hope this book inspires me after reading. |
I walked 2 floor down from the food court escalator to Watsons. I grabbed two ZA Two-Way Foundation refill at RM24.43 each (read here for my previous review), Nexcare Acne Patch (18 pcs) for RM7.40. Lots of good review for this acne patch. I shall try and do a review soon. Also grabbed two Frozz Mint at checkout for just RM4.90 for two.
ZA Skin Beauty Two-Way Foundation Refill #21 – RM24.43 each Nexcare Acne Patch (18 pcs) – RM7.40 Frozz Mint – RM4.90 for two |
Then I walked all the way down to Uniqlo to check if they have restock Ultra Seamless Brief and they did! I grabbed 2 pieces in black and another Body Shaper Shorts in black too. I need the Body Shaper Shorts for a new tight fitting dress I bought last month.
Ultra Seamless Brief (Black) – RM34.90 each Body Shaper Shorts – RM39.90 |
Still in the hunt for a new eyeshadow palette though.
I’ve used up all my mascara on hand so I have no choice but to fork out some money to buy a new one. After some consideration of which mascara to get, I decided to get Kiss Me Heroine Make mascara.
I dropped by Watsons KLCC and I was delighted to found out Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara comes with a free mascara remover! The single mascara is selling at RM44.90 and this set is also RM44.90 so without a doubt I’d get this! But of course I have great fond on Majolica Majorca mascara so I take a peep and the price is only a few ringgit cheaper than Kiss Me but I couldn’t find a mascara which can give me curl and volume.
Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara comes with a free mascara remover – RM44.90. |
Product description on the mascara at the back of the packaging. |
Product description and directions for use for mascara remover at the back of the packaging. |
The mascara is in deep maroon colour tube with gold wordings and decorations while mascara remover tube is in light pink colour. |
The mascara remover rush however is quite unique. Just look at the picture ;). I’ve never seen anything like this! |
Now let’s take a look at how this mascara transform my lashes and how wonderful the mascara remover works!
My bare eyes hehe. Looks so sleepy. |
I applied some mascara base for extra oompphh. |
OH MY GOSHHHH! I never seen my lashes so long and curl before! My eyelashes immediately curled up upon first application and I only applied 2 coatings. |
The mascara remover is easy to use.
Brush on mascara remover and leave for 2 or 3 minutes. The formula is quite watery/oily though so beware. |
Overall, I love both products very much! I have this “happiness tears” problem which messed up my eye makeup most of the time but this mascara just stay put on my lashes without giving me any smudges.
Although the mascara I bought is volume & curl but I do notice some lengthening. It could be from the fine fibers in the formula. It does curl up my lashes all day long and really give my lashes the volume which I wanted. Tomorrow I’d try 3 coats! As for waterproof. . .no doubt this mascara is oil, tears, sweat, water and sebum repellent.
Pros:
1) Worthy buy for a 2-in-1 set.
2) Mascara is water, oil, set, tears proof.
3) Mascara makes eyelashes curled up as well as adding volume to it.
4) Mascara remover is not too oily and work superbly in removing the mascara without making you looking like a panda.
Cons:
I couldn’t find anything which I dislike. . . seriously.

Majolica Majorca is having 50% discount on their single eyeshadow at Watsons and I’ve been searching for BE286 which is a beige, peachy gold shimmering shadow as highlight for brow bone but to my disappointment the stocks at Watsons Kajang is manufactured in 2009 and there’s no more in Mid Valley. I managed to track down these at the newly renovated Watsons KLCC. I bought the last 2 piece on the shelf. The manufacture date stated is 28/1/2011.
Majolica Majorca Single Eyeshadow BE286 – RM10.45 after 50% discount. |
I love love love their gold logo! |
The colour look like just an ordinary light beige but to my surprise it turns out to be a “sun-kissed” peachy gold colour which really makes me happy somehow in a way which is weird. |
The colour payoff is very good! It’s very pigmented and intense. |
I’m happy that I found this because I dropped and broke my favourite Stila single eyeshadow in Kitten a few weeks ago. I’m thinking to go back and get some more eyeshadow in different colours. What do you think?
I jumped onto the 60% discount sales bandwagon from Watsons yesterday and came home with these! I whatsapp Monica in the morning about Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover and she asked me a favor to help her to grab 2 bottles as she’s at her hometown.
Along with this I also grabbed the new product from Maybelline which is their highly raved HyperSharp Liner. To be frank I’m not a Maybelline, L’Oréal or Revlon fan when it comes to waterproof mascara or eyeliner. I had bad experience years back. But I’ve been reading reviews on this new liquid eyeliner and it sounded good. Although the reviews available are just a handful but I was sold.
Maybelline HyperSharp Liner – RM23.80 100% Smudge Proof, Water Proof! |
It’s light weighted with simple gold and black packaging although I secretly hope that the cap is made from more sturdier good quality material. Anyhow I love the superfine 0.05 mm tip!! |
As the piece is totally brand new, I drew this swatch 3 times on the back of my hand. |
I waited for it to dry and I did a water-running test! As you can see the swatch on my hand show no sign of fading or smudging. |
Next test. I dabbed and wiped dry with a tissue paper. Still no sign of fading or a slight colour transfer on the tissue. I’m amazed. |
Then I dabbed some Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover on a cotton pad for the next test. . . removing it! |
After 8 times of gentle wiping, I got the eyeliner totally off from my hand. With harder wipes I think you can get it off by 3rd or 4th time. |
I get too carried away with using it until I realise I drew a thick line! Gosh my eye looks HUGE. |
You got to try this to experience it. At only RM23.80 retail price from Maybelline, this is certainly a worthy buy or you can say. . . a worthy try!
