Event philosophy

philosophy, a brand that approaches personal care from a skin care point of view now celebrates the beauty of the human spirit at Malaysia

I learnt yesterday that one of philosophy‘s inspiration is on the lowercase writing. Philosophy uses lowercase writing to remind us to live life with curiosity, wisdom and joy. That explains today’s lowercase title 🙂

So you’ve heard. And it’s true. Philosophy has finally landed at our Malaysia shore at all Sephora outlets nationwide to be exact, just three weeks ago. I get to learn the science behind the products and I get to be the “scientist” for a moment too. I’ll explain further below. The preview was divided by three chapter – Chapter 1 : Skin Care, Chapter 2 : Fragrance and Chapter 3 : Bath & Body.

Philosophy Signature Girl

Review: ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder, Not a Must-Have But It’s Good to Have

The fact is, I’ve been eyeing on ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder everytime I’m at Watsons for the past few years. It’s always a “buy or don’t buy” question I ask myself because Groovy Smoovy is such a small face powder but with a higher price tag. I really couldn’t justify the price I’m paying against the size of the product. Really. I’ve lost count on those days where Groovy Smoovy was on 50% sales but the manufacturing date is like two years ago? So yeah, that sort of hold me back from purchasing ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder.

ZA Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder 1
Besides that I couldn’t figure out if I needed this. It may look like a face powder but in fact this Groovy Smoovy is an oil-blotting powder. You see. A few years ago I don’t carry any makeup with me once I left the house with makeup on. I don’t do touch up during the mid day at all. Now that I carry a few makeup products with me when I’m out, I still don’t have the habit of touching up the powder on my face due to the obvious reason – oily skin. So the “buy or don’t buy” dilemma continued for a good few years 😛

GLAMGLOW® News

Beauty News: GLAMGLOW® – Hollywood’s Backstage Secret For Instant Camera Ready Skin is Now Available at Sephora

Today’s Beauty News update is different. I’m not sure if you are aware, I started a new section “Beauty News” recently for the blog. The idea came along after considering the fact that all the press releases that was emailed to me will be wasted if I ignored it thus came Beauty News. Beauty News is mainly news on what’s happening in the beauty world based on press release. This is the only time that I will be forgiven for copying press release 😀 . Well, not copying all but partially 😉 I said earlier that this GLAMGLOW® news update is different because I went to Sephora to take some photos and product pamplet, not news from press release. I don’t usually take product photo in Sephora this openly as there’s BAs and guards everywhere. I get to do this today all thanks to GLAMGLOW® Product Manager and Beauty Trainer who happen to be there for an in-house event.

GLAMGLOW® product is like one of the highly raved mud mask by everyone around the globe. I’ve heard it quite some time ago and I still couldn’t believe that it’s here in Malaysia. There’s no direct news that this will hit Malaysia. The next thing I know, BOOM. It’s in Sephora.

Review: Skin Care Skin Care - Sunblock/Sunscreen Yadah

Review: Yadah Oh My Sun Block SPF35 PA++, Decent UV Ray Protection yet Light-Weight and Non-Greasy Finishing

I’m sure you are well aware of the brand Yadah by now. How can we miss it with the cute and catchy theme right? 🙂 Perhaps due to the cartoony character mascot, many are not aware that Yadah’s range of beauty products is actually for teens and young adults. That means you and I are the target user for Yadah.

So who exactly is the red hair girl that is always associated with the brand Yadah? Her name is none other than Yadah! Yadah was created as a brilliant girl, witty and optimistic, strong and loyal and she’s often seen with her pet alien Yom Yom. Yadah also have a birth date. Do look out for special promotion somewhere in the month of May because Yadah’s birthday falls on the 3rd of May 🙂 . Now the pet alien. Yom Yom is actually bigger than Yadah in size although he’s a pet. He’s an alien with super high IQ, extremely loves to eat (which pet doesn’t?), sticks to Yadah like a glue and he’s actually forced to land on earth due to space travel mishap LOL.

There you have it. A short but interesting story on Yadah and her pet alien Yom Yom. My first encounter with Yadah was last year when Yadah invited me over for an exclusive preview on Anti-Trouble Series, Lip Tint Balm and Lovely Lip Gloss, which you can read about it at this link. This year Yadah added a few new makeup products into their existing range but the most recent new product would be this Oh My Sun Block.

Yadah Oh My Sun Block 1
No price for guessing what does this product do. Based on the straightforward product name, you’ve guessed it right. It’s a sun block. Currently Yadah only have one sun block under their belt which is the Sun Cream SPF40 PA++. I’m not a fan of that because of the scent and also the stickiness thereafter so I’m quite glad when Yadah came out with Oh My Sun Block.

Hair Tutorial: Cute and Simple Side Braided Bun

A year ago I stumbled upon a Youtube video on this simple, cute side braided bun and I’ve been doing the hair style since. I must admit, having all your hair up in a bun is not a favourite here because you could risk looking like an “auntie”. The last time I had my hair up in a bun is during my ballet classes 😀 . Boy it was a competition on who have the neatest and nicest hair bun of all!

I’ve seen some stylish girls doing it and it actually looks good. The key to this look is to put on jewellery, pairing the look with modern attire such as dresses and don’t forget the makeup 🙂 . For this side branded bun hair tutorial, I’ve only put on a light makeup as I was in a hurry. Hope you like this hair-do!
