I was invited by Watsons Malaysia to attend the Watsons Ford Fiesta Contest Winner Prize Presentation Ceremony held on Thursday at Sime Darby Auto ConneXion head office.

Today on the 22nd of December 2011, Ms. Sheerila Ramlee a 28 year old, teacher in Sekolah Kebangsaan Kulai will be rewarded for being a loyal member of the Watsons VIP Card, and shopping at Watsons stores, with a brand new Ford Fiesta Sport!

The ceremony started with a short opening intro by emcee of the day.

Mr. Faiz Shah, Senior Marketing Manager of Watsons Malaysia delivered his speech first. He said “When we were thinking of ways to truly reward our loyal members, we wanted something that is catered to the target audience of young, modern, urban females who are always on-the-go. The Ford Fiesta Sport is the perfect car for our customers’ lifestyles, and it is the perfect chance for us to show our appreciation to our Watsons VIP Card Members for their unwavering support”.

Followed by speech from Mr. Lee Eu San, Head of Marketing & Sales Operation of Sime Darby Auto ConneXion Sdn Bhd. He said in his speech “We are happy and impressed with this partnership with Watsons as the impressions and awareness generated during this campaign was truly great. Strong brand presence on radio, TV, in-stores and even targeting the digital age on Social Media as a powerful tool to reach out to the members is truly impressive”.

Then it was the car key presentation time!

Ms. Sheerila Ramlee thanked her lucky stars as she was presented with the key to her brand new ride at Sime Darby Auto Connexion Head Office today, in conjunction with the 1st Anniversary of the Watsons VIP Card.

“It was an unexpected surprise, but if feels really good to be rewarded at my favourite store! I have shopped at Watsons and when the VIP card first launched, I made it a point to sign up so I can be rewarded for my regular shopping at Watsons. Today, I truly felt that I have been treated like a true VIP, with the amazing treatment and of course, the brand new car! Thank you Watsons for making me feel like a VIP!” said Ms. Sheerila Ramlee, the lucky winner of the all-new Ford Fiesta Sport.

Ms. Sheerila Ramlee was the lucky winner out of 126,623 qualified members making up a total of 302,646 entries in the Watsons Ford Fiesta Contest which was held from September till October. To qualify for the contest, all they had to do was to shop with a purchase of RM40 on their favourite personal care products with their Watsons VIP Card to receive one automatic entry. Spending at RM80 would be qualified for two automatic entries, and so forth, while purchase of Watsons Own Brand products also qualified them for double entries.

Mr. Faiz Shah also mentioned “In total, we’ve received a total of 302,646 qualified entries, a record breaking number compared to the previous Ford Fiesta Contest held in Feb/March which garnered 280,000 entries in total. This is truly a proud moment for us as we were able to generate even more interest in our Watsons VIP Cards in stores and online on our Watsons Fan Page on Facebook. We are very happy with the results of this contest and hope for more opportunities to reward our fans as well as educate them on the benefits of being a Watsons VIP Card Member”.
