Estée Lauder Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Review: Estée Lauder So Ingenious Multi-Dimension Loose Powder #04 Transparent

I had the Estée Lauder So Ingenious Multi-Dimension Loose Powder in #04 Transparent for a few months now as I’ve been trying to finish off my Clinique Blended Face Powder before opening this. So I only took out to use somewhere end of July together with RMK Liquid Foundation. Boy was I happy when I finally get to use this Multi-Dimension Loose Powder.

When I bought this I was asked by the BA what I want from the loose powder. The question was pretty relevant to determine which type and coverage I desire. I said I just want to use it to set the liquid foundation and no coverage is needed. However I did said I like a lil shimmer and I wanted to grab the CyberWhite Extra Brightening Loose Powder SPF 15/ PA++ but was quickly stopped by the BA as it would make me look shinier due to my skin type. Ohhh bummer 🙁

I was matched to #04 Transparent or if I like #01 Light which has a pink base. In the end I chose #04 Transparent. The content is 18g which is lesser comparing with other loose powder. The Clinique one is at a whopping 35g!

Estée Lauder So Ingenious Multi-Dimension Loose Powder comes in a sturdy wide plastic casing with a white puff. The whole case looked huge so one wouldn’t guess it’s only 18g.

I never use a puff to apply my loose powder before as I apply all my make up with a brush. The thing about applying loose powder with a brush is that you could get powder all over your clothes. So I’m definitely going to try using this puff instead.

It’s quite a thick and big puff. Good for “press and roll” application method. Let’s hope I have the heart to use it 🙂

All loose powder come protected with a sticker on the opening to prevent spillage and to retain freshness. I never throw the sticker away. In fact I transfer some powder to my old Clinique casing to use and stick back the sticker everytime I’m done. I just don’t like my makeup casing to be dirty 🙂

I must highlight to you the powder. It’s so finely milled that it felt soft on my finger. My first loose powder is Clinique and it’s not that finely milled. This my friend is superb. It felt so light on my face that I don’t feel like I have anything on my face.

As you’ve guessed…the shade on my skin is…transparent! I almost couldn’t capture the photo as it doesn’t appear visible in my camera until I darken the resolution just to capture the image. If you want coverage by just using this loose powder this is not the one for you. However you can layer your liquid foundation to cover what’s needed to be covered and use this to set the foundation. The finishing of using this is pretty good. I’m liking it.

There’s 2 way of applying loose powder.
1) By using the puff included – Tap off the excess powder, press onto face and roll. This gives you a flawless and natural finish.
2) By using brush – Similar to using puff; tap off the excess powder, press and roll. You can use a fan brush to brush off the excess after that. I personally don’t do that. I find using brush takes more time and I get bored repeating the process lol!

Here’s me with Estée Lauder So Ingenious Multi-Dimension Loose Powder #04 Transparent. I’m happy and satisfied with the finishing.

Have you tried any loose powder from Estée Lauder? Or any other loose powder that is good? Care to share?

  • the only powder puff I like using is from Lavshuca Finishing powder. it’s so thick and velvety soft! 🙂 the other puffs i tried (ie. from sasa, guardian etc) were not so good so normally i use brush for loose powder. let us know your thoughts on the EL puff, ok? 😉 it looks like a luxury puff!
