Have you heard before that a 2-in-1 shampoo are not good for the hair? 2-in-1 as in wash and condition at the same time. But not all duo functional products are as bad as what the shampoo had caused. Just like 8-in-1 BB cream which is also bad for your skin but yet millions use that everyday haha.

The recent 2-in-1 product that I’ve been using on and off for the past 3 months is the EVE LOM Rescue Mask. At one glance it’s actually a deep cleansing mask but there’s also a second usage of the mask.

For combination / oily and acne prone skin like mine, I treat deep cleansing mask like a heaven-sent product. Whenever someone told me they have congested pores I always always tell them to use a deep cleansing mask at least once a week. As for me I slap on deep cleansing mask 3 times a week. Reason being is that I have serious congested pores. There are times where I focus too much on mask that I neglected facial scrubs. I didn’t realize that both actually work well hand in hand until I consulted a beauty trainer. There I was sitting down and complaining about my congested pores and the first question that was given to me is “do you use facial scrub too?”. Ohh crap! Then only I know I’ve neglected my facial scrub and rely solely on deep cleansing mask!

I was attracted to EVE LOM because of the simple and clean packaging. Their signature is white tube / jar with gold name stamp. For some reason this type of packaging seems elegant and looked expensive to me. Talking about luxury in a tube eh?

EVE LOM Rescue Mask comes in 2 different size and packaging. You have a choice of 50ml in a tube or 100ml in a jar. The one I have is in a tube.

EVE LOM Rescue Mask is a clay-based mask. It is known as a perfect weekly spring-clean and an emergency treatment for stressed out skin. I personally think of this mask whenever I felt that my skin is in a bad state besides using it as a weekly deep cleansing mask.

The mask has a very strong camphor smell to it. So it does smells a bit herbal. The scent takes some time to get used to. The more I used it the more I get used to the smell. Camphor is to cool and decongest. It also contain almond extract which reduces redness. The clay-thing that you are about to see below is actually kaolin which is used to absorbs excess oil, reduces puffiness and ground almonds is to gently exfoliate. Not only that. Honey and glycerine is also infused to condition the skin leaving it soft and supple.

Before using the mask I’d recommend shaking the tube vigorously to mix the water and kaolin evenly cause after putting the tube aside for a few days the two particle tend to separate. If I didn’t hear the water sound that means it’s already well mixed and I can start using it. There’s a time where I didn’t shake and mix the particle well my mask doesn’t harden. I had the most hard time scrubbing it off. Lesson learnt.

This mask harden and tighten the skin like no body’s business. At first after I applied the mask on I can still smile, talk and laugh (left pic). When it started to harden and tighten I couldn’t even smile anymore (right pic) lol. I like the tightening feel. It’s like masking + firming at the same time. As you can see I don’t like applying anything on my eyes and it’s also written in the instruction to skip the eye area.

I can see very clearly all the ground almonds when I applied it on my face. It’s not that much though but does it’s job perfectly.

When it’s completely dry say 15 to 20 minutes later, I’d go to my wash basin and start scrubbing the clay off in a small upward circular motions. Don’t worry that the clay residue will dirty the basin because a splash of water will wash everything down the drain. It doesn’t stick to the basin.
It feels good scrubbing the clay off. Immediately I can see that my face is so much brighter and smooth even before rinsing. As I don’t have a Muslin cloth at home I only rinse my face with water.

Here is the Before and After. I get instant brightening and smooth face which stay till the next day. What I REALLY love about EVE LOM Rescue Mask is the firming effect! It’s soooo obvious right? Everytime I use the mask I’d look into the mirror to check how small my face is lol. Absolutely love that.

Who say 2-in-1 product is bad eh? The only grip for me is the price tag. Eventhough so EVE LOM products received multiple awards and recognitions worldwide simply because it’s good. It is a good investment for those that want something different and yet damn good. You know how particular I am with water retention face and sagging face pocket as a result. EVE LOM Rescue Mask is able to pull my face upward. Something that I didn’t expect at all from a deep cleansing mask. It does a superb job in deep cleansing and scrubbing those dead skin off which gave instant brightening.
