There’s a new CC Cream in town :D. That’s right. World renowned celebrity dermatologist brand, Dr. Brandt recently held a press launch for their version of CC Cream – CC Mat With Signature Shinerase™ just end of July 2013.

Instead of naming the product CC Cream, this one is slightly different. Dr. Brandt CC Mat is an all-in-one oil-free colour control cream that provides instant mattifying coverage and oil-control while giving the skin an instant makeover, just like a flawless work of art :D. It provides a matte finishing but yet natural looking to even out skin tone and the SPF 30 PA+++ in it is to protect the skin using 100% mineral filters. CC Mat is more suitable and ideally to be used for oily/combination, blemish-prone and sensitive skin types. I have oily skin. To be able to know that there is a product just for oily skin people, hey…I’m sold already!

So, what is the different between Dr. Brandt’s BB and CC Cream? According to Julie Andre (International Training & PR Director for Dr Brandt) during the presentation, BB Cream is more of a makeup product while CC Cream is a combination of makeup WITH skin care.

During the presentation, all of us get to do a small test on the back of our hand. We were given a sticker and then we are told to apply CC Mat over this sticker. We should be able to see that the CC Mat blends very well, not even a bit oily and it also provides a high coverage, just like a foundation. As you know… CC Cream coverage is not as intense as BB Cream or foundation. But CC Mat is a different story.

Then we are told to remove the sticker. There shouldn’t be any different with the skin tone between the sticker area and the area that are applied with CC Mat. It is suppose to be invisible, which I will show you below because the shade that was squirted onto my hand is Medium to Dark shade, so it doesn’t work as it’s too dark. But no worries, I will show you what I meant just a few pictures below 😀

Dr. Brandt CC Mat With Signature Shinerase™ is available in 2 shades – Light to Medium and Medium to Dark. Despite only having just 2 shades, you won’t go too far off track with the shade. It will somehow managed to even out according to the skin tone.

As I mentioned earlier, the coverage is buildable in 3 levels: sheer / medium / high. Always start with a sheer layer and apply another layer if you need more coverage and so on. On concern area such as pigmentations or acne marks, you can dab and pat onto the said area in patting motion. Patting on will create a higher coverage.

Dr. Brandt user of 3 years, renowned model and founder of TheLuxeNomad.com, Stephanie Chai is the ambassador for Dr. Brandt CC Mat. She was invited for a short sharing experience of using CC Mat. Although she have quite a fair skin and she is using the lightest shade – Light to Medium CC Mat, it doesn’t make her complexion darker and it does look natural on her that day.
