My rotating makeup organizer is looking rather empty on the top outer rim so I thought I could fill it up with something that can fit. Furthermore I had a sudden itch to open up some new products to try. I did a lot of swatches and makeup trial lately no thanks to my sudden itch to try something or a new technique and so breaking into the travel size bottle of Dr. Brandt Xtend Your Youth Dual Fusion Water would be a wise choice.
As you already know, miceller cleansing water is something I don’t fancy using on daily basis. I’m still the cleansing oil / balm / milk kinda girl when it comes to removing makeup. But when I need to remove makeup on a certain part of my face or when I needed to refresh the whole face makeup, I turned to cleansing water. Dr. Brandt Xtend Your Youth Dual Fusion Water is an antioxidant-packed cleanser AND makeup remover for face and eyes.
Dr. Brandt claim that Dual Fusion Water is gentle and removes all impurities and makeup effectively. Although I may not like cleansing water as much as other people but I can definitely stand with Dr. Brandt’s claim. It is true that it is gentle. In fact I find it to be better than any other cleansing water I’ve tried. Dual Fusion Water formulation is designed to work along with the skin pH balance without disturbing it. It also protect the skin from any inflammation that is caused by environmental stressors or inhibit bacterial reactions.
I find that it is not as wet as other miceller cleansing water. I don’t know why but I like it this way though. Maybe because of that, it does leave the skin with a slight sticky feeling. It doesn’t have that cooling sensation on the face as you wipe down with cotton pad. That’s the downside of it. I guess you can’t have the best of both world eh?
Does it work in removing all makeup? Yes it does. Like I said earlier it is not as wet as others so the usage of cotton pad is lesser as the product cling onto the cotton pad better. I like that it’s scentless and there wasn’t any water dripping from the cotton pad to my hand. I used one MUJI Peelable Cotton Pad, separate it into two. Each cotton pad is peelable to four pieces but I would prefer to use two pieces for removal. I used half from the cotton pad to do first round of makeup removal by using the front and back. Then I soak the other half to do a second round of removal.
I wasn’t wearing any eye makeup that day so I applied two coats of Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara on one eye, which is one of the toughest mascara to be removed. I waited 10 minutes for it to completely dry down before removing with Dr. Brandt Xtend Your Youth Dual Fusion Water. It does quite a good job in removing waterproof eye makeup but not gel eyeliner. It takes a bit of tugging here and there to get all gel eyeliner off especially if you tight line with it. On a brighter note, I do like this very much to remove my eye makeup because it doesn’t sting my eye a bit unlike other cleansing water. Dual Fusion Water is Ophthalmologist tested, which makes it suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Here is the ingredient list. The key ingredients include:
- Micelles: to cleanse and purify. It is a tiny particles that absorb and eat up dirt as well as makeup.
- Lotus Extract: to take away impurities and residue of pollution.
- Redrosewine: an antioxidant to protect the skin from inside out stress and from any inhibits oxidation and to protect the skin from collagen degradation.
- Derivative of Hyaluronic Acid: the prevent skin dehydration.
This is by far my favourite cleansing water that I’ve tried so far. No doubt it’s a little bit sticky on the face thereafter. You may not like it at all. I don’t too. I can totally understand that it is sticky because the cleansing water is with skin care properties. Somehow I like how the product feels on my face. I like that it is not as wet as others with no product dripping all over my hand. Do give it a try if you can. Maybe you’ll like it like I did 😀

I love cleansing waters only because it’s so convenient. Would love to try this now but the price !!! Is that for the 60ml?
Hi EL. I mentioned in paragraph #1 that I took out the travel size to use (because I only have the travel size). The price is for 200ml. You can refer to the first post I posted a few weeks ago for more info as well 🙂 https://street-love.net/2014/07/beauty-news-dr-brandt-introduces-two-new-anti-aging-range-part-two-xtend-your-youth.html
Hi Fiona,
Does the counter carry travel size as well? I would like to get the small bottle to try before splurging on the retail size.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Hi Yen Nee, I don’t think so dear. You can call up the counter to double check 🙂
Okay. Thanks Fiona
