Valentine’s Day is a way for us to show that special someone that we care. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day now you live in New York?
No matter where you are in the world, everyone likes to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the one they love. I love receiving flowers and perhaps an extra special treat like the Dolce Floral Drops. That would definitely put someone in my good books…

Describe us a typical American Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day is huge in the USA! Everyone gets involved and celebrates, whether that’s with a partner or with friends. I always send ‘secret admirer cards’ to my friends and I like to buy them little gifts as I think it’s a great time to spoil your loved ones.

How does in the USA change around Valentines?
It is impossible to ignore Valentine’s Day in the USA! Everywhere you look there’s advertisements with giant hearts and flowers. It’s very corny, but I have to admit I love it. I love seeing all the guys walking around with flowers on their way home to their loved ones.

How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
I’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day different ways, depending on who my valentine was or if I had a valentine. Usually with a nice dinner or a show and a romantic night, but it depends on who my valentine is.

Tell us about your first Valentine’s Day.
We used to have Valentine’s Day in school, and you would buy valentines for somebody, like a secret valentine, and send it. I remember on my fourth-grade Valentine’s Day I got one. I got a valentine from my crush, which was pretty special.

What was your most memorable Valentine’s Day?
One time, I went to see Anita O’Day with my dad. Actually it was right before she passed away, and it was my dad’s favourite jazz singer when he was a teenager. She was playing in New York, so we went to go and see her, because I didn’t have a valentine that year. So my dad was my valentine, and it was really special.

What are your plans for this Valentine’s Day?
I’m hoping that my valentine, firstly, remembers that it’s Valentine’s Day, and then, I don’t know, maybe a nice dinner, glass of champagne, some red roses. The classics. A big box of chocolates and I’m happy.
