It was lots of fun at Estée Lauder Pink Charity Ride 2015 which was held last Saturday 17th October at Mid Valley Megamall. I could not sleep at all probably due to excitement, that I needed to wake up early or it could be the coffee I had at 5pm the day before. Since I do not really sleep that much these days (or rather not sleeping at all), I took a light breakfast at home at 4am (crazy, I know) as I was a bit hungry. I left my house at 5.30am and reached Mid Valley at 6am.

For some odd reasons, the road was pretty busy at 5.30am on a Saturday. When I was nearing Mid Valley, it gotten busier. The mall surrounding was ‘lively’ and so does the basement parking. I saw happy sights of participants prepping their bikes and testing their bikes around the parking lot.

I registered myself, took some coffee and walked to the Start of the ride. I wish I could tell you the feeling I had at that time. The surrounding was full with excitement, happy and supportive participants. Lots of positive energy and vibes around me. None the less, I was at the right place at the right time.

Every year, Estée Lauder Companies do its part through various outreach efforts on Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign and raise funds for charitable beneficiaries. This year, the theme was ‘Every Action Counts’. Through this campaign, the company aimed to raise even more awareness and raise funds for the charitable bodies through various collaborations and exciting activities. This is inspired by a sole belief that only with greater awareness on breast cancer that more people will be able to take the right action and make the next step to lend a helping hand.

The Pink Charity Ride 2015 began with a warm up session by Fitness First. Cyclists age 18 and above are welcomed for a fun ride around Mid Valley to Dataran Merdeka and at the same time contributing to a good cause. Tickets were sold at RM80 for each participation. In return, participants will get a Brooks T-shirt, a goody bag and a chance of winning a lucky draw prize! The proceeds will be donated to the beneficiaries.

I can’t remember what time was the Flag Off as I was taking photos on both my phone and camera AND taking video in between that 😀 . Everyone was so energetic and happy to start peddling! Sports person are weird. They know they will suffer later (sore legs and bum) and yet they are still so happy 🙂

Since I can’t cycle or rather afraid to cycle, I went for breakfast at Starbucks and waited for everyone to come back. Around 8am, we saw the convoy lead (in motorcycle) came back so we quickly rush over to the finishing line.

The event ended within the estimated time frame. Once again, the mall was surrounded with positive energy from tired but happy participants. It was a successful and the most organized charity event I have ever been to. I was actually sad that it ended so soon.

In between that, I sneaked away to the South Court on the inside of the mall for the Pink Pledge, which was held from 1st-4th October and 12th-18th October 2015. This effort is made possible with partnership from Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall to reach out to Malaysians with a touch of pink. Anyone could easily submit their pledge for the cause and the pledges will appear on the Digital Pledge Wall. Throughout the Pink Charity Ride, I have been posting lots of photos on my Instagram with the hashtag #EsteeLauderMalaysia and #BCAstrength and even gotten my photos printed out 😀 . Every year, Estée Lauder Companies will released a few exclusive pink merchandises, which will be sold throughout the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. A portion of proceeds will go to charity. These are this year’s collectible items / set to help raise funds.
