Something funny happened to me lately. I don’t know if it’s the age, the recent hot weather or the change with my skin condition that causes my skin to be dry lately. For the first time in my life I am actually enjoying a less oilier skin. I do not need to be worry about shiny face, blotting or makeup meltdown. I was enjoying a full day out without stressing about finding a mirror to check on my face. But I am also aware that I have to do something about dry skin. I re-evaluate my day and night skincare and boom! I realized I have not been using any hydrating product AT ALL. I went on a frantic search in my stash praying hard I have something stuck somewhere so I do not have to buy. Luck was on my side as I found this Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence, which I received quite some time ago but never gotten around it. Perfect timing.

We are very familiar with Hada Labo’s best-selling Hydrating Lotion by now so what is this Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence?

Hada Labo, as an expert in the hydrating series, improvised the formula and came out with the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence. It is formulated with Moist24™, a technology that provides 24 hours of hydration to the skin with 4 types of Hyaluronic Acid. In another word, this essence is the concentrate version of the lotion.

The bottle is made from glass and the dropper works like a charm. I like that it is a slim glass pipette as it does not suck up too much of product at once.

For an essence, this Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence is quite watery. As watery as it is, it stays in place and does not stream down like other watery consistency essence. Usually this type of essence will be quite heavy on the skin but not this one. This one feels like water. And it is cooling too.

Hada Labo claimed that this essence is able to achieve 30% of moisture increase when paired together with the Hydrating Lotion from the same brand. I do not have the lotion with me so I have been using this essence along with other skincare. Within a short 3 days of usage, I notice a dramatically change with my skin condition. My skin is back to the normal state, minus the oil secretion. My skin stays dewy and not oily, which I like very much. And because my skin is properly hydrated, makeup goes on so beautifully. And when my face do gets oily, I do not look greasy and makeup does not slip off. I just looked…dewy. It has a technology that helps to boost the skin’s ability to absorb nutrients from the next skincare products. Now, that makes a lot of sense in my case. I see and feel the difference when I used this essence versus the times I skipped this essence.

Just like every other Hada Labo products, this Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Essence is suitable for all skin types as it is skin PH balanced and low irritant. It is also alcohol-free, fragrance-free, colorant-free, and mineral oil-free 😉
