Last Friday ago I dropped by MAC Mid Valley to purchase a bottle of MAC Brush Cleanser 235ml for RM45. I’ve been wanting to buy this to clean my brushes daily after each use. Deep cleaning with brush shampoo etc etc is too time consuming for everyday use.
As it is near to Christmas, my small lil purchase is wrapped in a mirror-silver shopping bag. I’m amazed that MAC have the initiative to came up with such a nice shopping bag in conjunction with Christmas and they even include another gift wrapper (not pictured) inside the shopping bag!

This one product will clean, disinfect and condition the brush fibers so that brushes will last longer. It is convenient to use and is specifically designed to extend the life of high quality brushes. Brush Cleanser leaves your brushes smelling fresh and clean, and helps shorten their drying time.
The bottle is nothing fancy. After all it’s just RM45 and it’s a brush cleanser. Don’t expect anything fancy although it’s MAC ya. Based on what I read from other reviewer is that this used to be RM35. I guess there’s a RM10 price increase.
The dispenser nozzle is something like a shampoo bottle’s. Just one push and pour! But I do experience content leaking by the time I reached home. I took out the product and saw a lot of water stain which is already dried on the outside of the box. There’s also traces of the cleanser on the bottle body. Luckily for the thick box otherwise the content would be all over my car seat.
The instruction on how to use is not properly indicated on the box and on the bottle. What I was told is to just dispense the cleanser onto paper towel and run the brush throughly on the cleanser.
Here’s a simple pictorial on how to clean my dirty brush with this brush cleanser.
Step 1: Pour the content out onto a piece of paper towel.
Step 2: Prepare your dirty brushes!
Step 3: Run the brush throughly onto the brush cleanser.
Step 4: Immediately the cleanser grabbed all the residue from the brush. Continue to do this till it’s totally clean.
Step 5: Pour more cleanser if necessary and continue to swipe your brush on the cleanser.
DONE! Now your brush is clean and fluffy!
Lastly, reshape and lay your brush flat for it to dry.
This brush cleanser works like magic! It’s not drying and there’s no awful alcohol smell on the brush. My brush came out more fluffier than before cleansing. It only take about 5 minutes to air dry. I must say it really deep clean and doesn’t look like it’s an instant brush cleanser at all. I would definitely repurchase this. This will be my permanent instant brush cleanser!
