Make Up Tips – How To Draw A Perfect Eyebrow

Ever since I started beauty blogging seriously last year (it used to be just a diary for self ya know) and posting my not-so-pretty picture in the blog I received quite a few compliments on my eyebrow. Emmy of Benefit Cosmetics Malaysia complimented on my eyebrow too during the Benefit Raising Eyebrows Book Launch & Brow-Shaping Masterclass event. Last month I was asked to do a post on how I draw my eyebrow so here I am now. This post is meant to be up a few weeks ago but I’ve forgotten about it lol.

First thing first…disclaimer. I must stress again that this is just my own method on how I draw my eyebrow. I am no makeup guru. This post is meant as a sharing only. Before I start you ought to know that I had eyebrow embroidery nearly 10 years ago. It was the best thing that happen to me. I guess my brow stylist is quite good that my brow looked natural and people actually thought I drew them myself. I “recolor” my brow twice after that. The last time I did that was 6 years ago. How time flies. I haven’t want to recolor my brow now because I cannot stay away from human being for 1 week. Why 1 week? Well the embroidery is done thicker than the actual brow size itself. After it is done the brow will look exactly like Crayon Shin-Chan. The skin will drop off naturally in 1 week time. For me it’s 2 weeks. The color of my current embroidery has faded and gone thinner. So I’ve been drawing and shaping myself all this while. And now people actually thought I just had brow embroidery! Totally the opposite lol.

I never follow any guide or diagram before until I attended Benefit Brow-Shaping Masterclass only I learnt that there’s 3 important step that I should know. Nonetheless even without following the 3-steps all these while I still managed to draw a perfect eyebrow as per what the steps should be. I’ll prove to you later.

Make Up - Face Review: Make Up Ronasutra

Review: Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder #03 Natural Buff – I don’t like it, then I love it and I bought a backup!

I notice I always have a love and hate relationship with each of my beauty products. Sometimes I hate it and sometimes I love it. But Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder #03 Natural Buff is a different story. I don’t like it at first, then I found the correct way to use it so I love it and before you know it I bought a backup!

Ronasutra started off with just the mineral foundation and powder. That is also their best seller which made them well-known till to date. If I’m not mistaken it is also the first mineral foundation + powder in powder form made available in the market. How often do you find foundation in powder right?

Ronasutra1
I had the rare opportunity to sit down with Audri Zin; Product and Brand Development Director of Miliyasutra Industries Sdn Bhd about Ronasutra a few months back. It is an eye opening meeting for me as I learnt so much about the history of Ronasutra that not many people get to. Audri is also the R&D person who came up with the formula of the mineral foundation and powder as we know today.

The ingredients in Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder will shock you cause it did to me. Unlike other makeup product in the market that is made from 30-40 ingredients, there is only FIVE ingredients in Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder which is Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Boron Nitride, Yellow Iron Oxide (CI 77491) and Red Iron Oxide (CI 77492). Did you notice there is no talc in it? Talc is known to clog pores and contributed to congested skin which many people develop an allergy from using it. If you are wondering about the clog pores on the face perhaps it’s time to look into the powder that you put on. That’s not all. It is 100% natural mineral that doesn’t contain oil, preservatives, synthetic ingredients, fragrances and dyes.

Kanebo Lunasol Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up

Review: Kanebo Lunasol Lighting Eyes #01 Shiny White; Good as Eyeshadow as well as Highlighter

Will you agree with me if I said most of us skip highlighting our brow bone and inner corner tear duct area? I think most of us are not sure what to do with the “white” on an eyeshadow palette and some are afraid of putting white on the eyes.

On the other hand I’d be very happy if I find a white on a brand new eyeshadow palette. I couldn’t live without highlighting my brow bone. But I skip highlighting the inner corner tear duct area once in a while because I like to clean my eyes a few times a day. It’s not convenient for me when I do highlight the tear duct area although I can reapply after that.

Lately I notice that some palette came without a highlighter. I recall that I had this Kanebo Lunasol Lighting Eyes #01 Shiny White in my makeup stash and it has been there since June last year. Time to take it out and put it to good use!

Make Up Tips – Pencil Eyeliner as Base; Perfect for Everyday Wear

Since CNY is just around the corner and I’m already on leave so I thought I’d wake up earlier to do this makeup tips post. I have been wanting to post this up months ago but just didn’t have the time. This is a tips from Adrian Sin; Burberry and RMK Beauty Trainer which I picked up at RMK makeover last year. It is simple and yet useful and versatile for everyday wear that I’ve been implementing to my daily makeup myself.

Before I start I must mention a disclaimer in advance as I know some of you can be quite judgmental and harsh. I’m no makeup expert, this is a tips that I picked up personally from a makeup guru which I think is worth to be share to you guys as I had the privilege to meet and had my makeup done by Adrian not once but twice. And during numerous encounter with Adrian I managed to get some pointers, tips and tricks from him.

Ready?

I’m not going to talk about prep-ing your face with skin care or base makeup. I assume you guys are expert now. I’m just going to jump directly to the main topic which is using pencil eyeliner as eye makeup base.

Clarins Make Up - Remover Review: Make Up

Review: Clarins Water Purify One-Step Cleanser with Mint Essential Water, Makeup Remover for the Lazy Days

I was thinking hard a few days ago on what Clarins review to write. I know I still owe a Double Serum review but I haven’t even started using it. Oppss, my bad! That day was a weekend and I went out with the family to various car showroom to test some cars. So I had foundation, powder, blusher and lipstick on. By the time I reached home I was feeling lazy to remove everything off properly with cleansing oil or milk so I whipped this bottle of Clarins Water Purify One-Step Cleanser out considering I don’t have anything waterproof on.

Clarins493
Clarins came out with 2 variant of this one-step cleanser. The green one – Water Purify One-Step Cleanser with Mint Essential Water is meant for combination or oily skin while the orange one – Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser with Peach Essential Water is for normal or dry skin. As I have combination to oily skin I was recommended Water Purify One-Step Cleanser with Mint Essential Water.

The one that I bought is still in old packaging. Clarins Malaysia only brought in the new packaging right after I bought it. Not the first time! Urrgghhh!

As you can see it really resemble water. Basically this is cleansing water. It’s clear but in green color which I assume is the mint. Eventhough so I can’t detect any mint scent nor any minty sensation from the cleanser.

Make Up - Face Review: Make Up Talika

Review: Immediate Younger and Smoother Skin with Talika Skin Retouch

I have large pores all my life. I was born with it although some people told me that’s nonsense but as far as I can remember I do have large pores since I was young. That’s the fact and not nonsense to me.  This also mean that I have combination to oily skin. I guess you knew that by now :).

Dry skin people will told me they envy that I have oily skin while I’d told them I would prefer a dry skin. Ironic isn’t it? We are constantly hoping for something that are totally the opposite of what we had. As hard it is to remove wrinkle, it is also a challenge to reduce large pores. As we age the skin moves towards the graviti making the pores even larger. So we are constantly in this tug of war.

I stop hunting for pore reducer product because nothing works permanently. Almost all that I’ve tried only managed to reduce the size temporary. So when someone tried to introduce a product that claimed to reduce my pathetic pore size, I’d just give them a wink and smile. I mean mine are one tough case. That’s like impossible!

So what do I do if I can’t reduce my pore size? Well, I reach for a product that can give me an illusion that my pores are diminished. Talika Skin Retouch do just that.

Talika52
Talika Skin Retouch is one powerful small tube. It is said to give a smoothing effect, evens and brighten tone, fills fine lines and of course cover large pores. It is also said that everytime someone tested this on the hand it flew off the shelf. Yes it’s one of the best-seller product for Talika and they have several good reason for it.
