Burberry Make Up - Lips Review: Make Up

Review: Burberry Lip Cover #03 Cameo Pink

Just two weeks ago, I ordered a miniature Burberry Lip Cover #03 Cameo Pink from eBay Malaysia and I fall in love with it immediately even before using it.

Besides the cute looking lippie, one could never get enough of the signature Burberry print on the cover and on the lipstick itself!

#03 Cameo Pink has this micro-sparkle which is very subtle. Once applied on you wouldn’t see any sparkles on your lip. It just turns into a pretty opaque creamy colour.

Swatch done in 5 swipes.

The sun is blazing hot and turns my room in warm pink on the day I wore this lippie.

But in fact this lippie is not as “hot” pink as it look on above picture. The colour appears as soft pink on my lip. It’s MLBB (my lips but better).

But when I applied lip balm before this lipstick, I get a lil hint of peach. So weird. Maybe it’s the sunlight.

I love Burberry Lip Cover to death! The price is pretty reasonable among all the brands. It’s just RM93 to own a Burberry lipstick. Not a huge gap if I were to compare with Paul & Joe; another lippie which I’m also hooked on lately.

Dior Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up

Review: Christian Dior Diorsnow Extase Mascara #090 Black

My first Dior mascara! LOL.

Dior is known for their good quality makeups but this mascara; Diorsnow Extase #090 Black is disappointing. I’m glad that I only purchase trial size and not the full size otherwise I’d bang my head on the wall. Among my makeup stash, mascara usually finishes the fastest so I think I could suck it up and force myself to use this until it’s finish?

I wouldn’t say I hated this mascara totally. It’s more like a love and hate relationship. IMHO it totally depends on how you like your lashes to be with mascara. For me I’m into volume, lengthening, strong hold, waterproof, sweat and oil-proof mascara. I can’t have volume and droopy eyelashes right?

Diorsnow Extase #090 Black 4ml – RM28

One thing for sure Dior makeup is always made in a luxury way. Just look at this mascara. It’s good quality gold tube! Looks nice on the eyes, feels good holding it. What’s not to like? And. Despite the one I have is trial size, Dior still stamped their famous “CD” inital on top of the cap/tube.

Initial “CD” stamped on the top of the tube/cap.

The brush size however is nothing close to trial size brush. It’s a big fat brush just like normal size. I usually prefer trial size mascara over full size because of the small brush and the length of the applicator. The shorter the easier to apply. Brush is wavy and not straight like others. Cool. I have no problem with the big fat brush with this. There you go. My love for the mascara.

So, why would I say I hated this mascara. This mascara does nothing for lengthening, voluming and holding the lashes. Not even waterproof, sweat and oil-proof. Nil. Zero. Zilch. On the first day I wore this (which is my birthday actually), I prayed hard that this will not smudge. And it did. When I laugh hard and teared a bit, the mascara just melted. While I was driving in hot sun, the mascara melted again. I hate to keep checking the mirror if I have panda eyes!

Pictures below is taken with my old Canon Ixus as I was about to rush to work.

Droopy lashes. No lengthening and the mascara doesn’t hold my lashes curl.

No volume here. If you like clean, straight lashes then this is your mascara.

Looking up. Trying to convince myself that it does hold curl LOL. Fail.

Oh. This reminds me of Stage mascara 😛

In conclusion. If you are like me, this mascara is not for you. If you like clean straight lashes that mascara doesn’t clumped up for volume, then this mascara is for you.

Paul & Joe Review: Make Up

Review: Paul & Joe “Manhattan” Autumn 2011 Collection

Remember a 2 weeks ago I attended Paul & Joe Tea Party? Read here http://feeyona-loh.blogspot.com/2011/09/paul-joe-manhattan-autumn-2011.html.

As mentioned in the blog post above, I bought a set of Exclusive Manhattan It Girl Make Up Set at RM280. This set is valued at RM518. Here goes the detail pictures of the set that I’ve gotten. Everything in the set can be customized accordingly to our request.

Color Palette (003 CENTRAL PARK WEST)

Of all 3 palettes I decided to get 003 Central Park West although the BA advised me to get 002 Chelsea. The purple is too dark for day wear. Sigh. Wasted.

Paul & Joe new packaging.

Palette description, ingredients, contact info on the back of the box.

I was told this collection’s stock just arrived so I’m glad to see the manufacture date is Aug-11.

I like the fact that the palette is protected with a layer of padding inside the box.

Beautiful flowery motives on the palette! It’s different from their usual flowery palette whereas you could feel the flower with your fingers. I kinda like the old packaging though.

Palette description, contact info at the back of the palette.

Here’s how the palette looks like inside (with plastic cover on).

Here’s after I removed the plastic cover. Even the brush and applicator provided is also in a plastic.

Shimmering white highlighter, goldish eyeshadow, peachy blusher, pinkish eyeshadow and olive green eyeshadow.

Front view (without flash).
Face & Eye Color CS (073 42nd STREET)

Of all 3 colors, I like 42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge. Not really into Empire State as the colour combination is not suitable for me. The BA gave me a good advise. Either I could get Brooklyn Bridge and use as blusher or 42nd Street as eyeshadow. I need eyeshadow more than blusher and my Color Palette is not dark colour so I decided to get 42nd Street.

I was happy to found out that the casing of this Face & Eye Color is same motive with the collection’s pouch!

Palette description, contact info at the back of the palette.

Same manufacture date with Color Palette; Aug-11.

Definitely the nicest casing among all 3 designs.

The one I choose is a colour combination of pink and blue. Dark blue to be exact 😉
Lipstick C (073 UPTOWN GIRL)

I was already sold during the makeup demo where the makeup artist; Bong use the colour Uptown Girl on the model. It is also the softest and easiest to wear colour of all 3 shades. The other 2 colours are bright red and nude brown. I’m also liking Lower East Side which is the nude brown but in the end I decided to get Uptown Girl which is a light peachy pink colour. This shade is suitable for all occasion.

Although I like the colour of the lipstick but not so much on the casing. I prefer SoHo casing though.

Palette description, contact info at the back of the palette.

Manufacture date of Aug-11.

The casing is Paul & Joe’s usual lipstick casing. It’s in hard paper which I heard will not scuffed or bent that easily.

Don’t you love the colour? I was excited upon returning from the tea party that I wanted to show my mum the flower print on the lipstick. I was holding the cover not knowing it’s that loose and the bottom fell hard to the floor. I prayed hard that the lipstick is not broken. It’s not but the lipstick hit hard to the inner casing that the flower print is smudged a little. Heart ache!
Nail Enamel (019 BIG APPLE)

Being on the safe side, I always choose soft colour for nail polish. Talking about being girly girl :). But I was tempted for a deep red nail polish and the BA strongly agree on Big Apple. And of course I got it and never regretted my decision. I wore the nail polish on the same night itself and the colour still in perfect condition on my toe nails till now. Haven’t have the time to do my hand 🙁

No preview like Lipstick or Face & Eye Color.

Descriptions, Contact Info & Description

Mfg Date; Aug-11.

Isn’t Big Apple gorgeous! The name suits well 🙂

It’s a huge bottle of nail polish. Will take some time to finish this since the nail polish is long lasting.
Pencil Eye Liner WP (001 UPPER EAST SIDE)

And of course as for eyeliner, I’d choose Black. This pencil eyeliner is with shimmers in it.

Pencil Eye Liner WP. What does WP stands for??

Same manufacturing batch with the rest of the collection.

Nice looking pencil eyeliner? Definitely yes!

Pencil Eyeliner with shimmers in it. Kinda cute though. Unlike the one in the market which is either metallic or matte.

Lastly, the set comes with a floral pouch. The pouch is very well-made and good quality.

Paul & Joe tag sewn at the outside of the pouch.

Gold Paul & Joe zipper pull.

Most of the stuff is still new as I wanted to take picture before using it. Only nail polish is used on the same night and today finally I took out Face & Eye Color and Lipstick out to use.

Kiss Me Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up Watsons

Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara & Mascara Remover

I’ve used up all my mascara on hand so I have no choice but to fork out some money to buy a new one. After some consideration of which mascara to get, I decided to get Kiss Me Heroine Make mascara.

I dropped by Watsons KLCC and I was delighted to found out Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara comes with a free mascara remover! The single mascara is selling at RM44.90 and this set is also RM44.90 so without a doubt I’d get this! But of course I have great fond on Majolica Majorca mascara so I take a peep and the price is only a few ringgit cheaper than Kiss Me but I couldn’t find a mascara which can give me curl and volume.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara comes with a free mascara remover – RM44.90.

Product description on the mascara at the back of the packaging.

Product description and directions for use for mascara remover at the back of the packaging.

The mascara is in deep maroon colour tube with gold wordings and decorations while mascara remover tube is in light pink colour.

The brush is slim in the middle but wider on the top and bottom. The size of the brush is not too big or too small. Just nice for my eyes. I can see some fine fibers on the brush which is meant for some lengthening and volume.

The mascara remover rush however is quite unique. Just look at the picture ;). I’ve never seen anything like this!

Now let’s take a look at how this mascara transform my lashes and how wonderful the mascara remover works!

My bare eyes hehe. Looks so sleepy.

I applied some mascara base for extra oompphh.

OH MY GOSHHHH! I never seen my lashes so long and curl before! My eyelashes immediately curled up upon first application and I only applied 2 coatings.

The mascara remover is easy to use.

Brush on mascara remover and leave for 2 or 3 minutes. The formula is quite watery/oily though so beware.

I used a cotton pad and gently place underneath my eyelashes facing upward for 2 seconds and wipe! I’m so impressed with how well and good this is! The formula feels oily though which makes sense on why a waterproof mascara could be removed so easily.

Overall, I love both products very much! I have this “happiness tears” problem which messed up my eye makeup most of the time but this mascara just stay put on my lashes without giving me any smudges.

Although the mascara I bought is volume & curl but I do notice some lengthening. It could be from the fine fibers in the formula. It does curl up my lashes all day long and really give my lashes the volume which I wanted. Tomorrow I’d try 3 coats! As for waterproof. . .no doubt this mascara is oil, tears, sweat, water and sebum repellent.

Pros:
1) Worthy buy for a 2-in-1 set.
2) Mascara is water, oil, set, tears proof.
3) Mascara makes eyelashes curled up as well as adding volume to it.
4) Mascara remover is not too oily and work superbly in removing the mascara without making you looking like a panda.

Cons:
I couldn’t find anything which I dislike. . . seriously.

Clinique Make Up - Face Review: Make Up

Review: Clinique Blended Face Powder #20 Invisible Blend

Disclaimer:- The method and sequence used below is based on my own routine and on what work’s for me.

I wear make up on weekday due to work but I tried not wearing any make up on weekends. However I’m still not used to going out to the public without a single strip of foundation on my face so I decided to get a loose powder and Clinique is what I chose.

Last weekend I tracked down a Clinique Blended Face Powder with Brush #20 Invisible Blend (4.5g) sample size for just RM34. I always love buying sample size make up and skin care as they’re adorable.

Info from Clinique website:
Clinique’s signature blended powder. Loose, lightweight texture is right for every type of skin. Sets and perfects makeup, makes pores seem to disappear. Airy, skin-hugging formula delivers a reliably flawless finish.

Skin Types: All
Formula: Loose powder
Coverage: Sheer
Benefits: Oil control, Natural skin-perfecting look, Mineral enriched

Products used today before brushing on the loose powder.

1. I cleanse my face with Clarins Purifying Cleansing Gel.
2. Applied Clarins White Plus HP Whitening Pure-Aqua Lotion.
3. Next is Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream.
4. Applied Clarins Shaping Facial Lift using Manual Auto-Lifting method.
5. Followed by Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase.
6. Next up is Clarins Pore Minimizing Serum to lock all the goodies in at the same time to minimize pore visibility and flawless skin.
7. Then I applied Clinique Repairwear Contour at my jaw and neck.
8. Lastly, I applied Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection Tinted Version.
9. I finished it off with Clinique Blended Face Powder with Brush #20 Invisible Blend.

A quick look on the set.

Clinique Blended Face Powder with Brush #20 Invisible Blend (4.5g) sample size.

The powder is in light brown. It’s quite full for a sample size.

The retractable brush bristle is very soft and work just like kabuki brush in my humble opinion. As I’m new to using loose powder, I took some time to get used to it.

I must say I’m pretty impressed with this. It does cover well but of course it couldn’t cover my pimple breakout lately and doesn’t cover my pores. My pores look so visible but that’s not the reason why I bought it so I’m not really bothered. If I want to cover up my pores, I’d use my 2-way foundation. It does make me look a bit white after application but once the powder sets in, it’s blended in with my skin tone.

Oil control is pretty good! I had a little shine on my nose after 6 hours of application. And I need not to blot as it’s very minimal.

Here’s the happy me. My blusher is too sheer and doesn’t appear well in the photo. Oppss.

Pros:
1) Good price for a huge trial item which comes with a brush!
2) Superb oil control loose powder and makeup stays matte all day with minimal blotting (1-2 times per day).
3) The powder is so fine and soft.
4) Brush included is soft and easy to use.

Cons: (although I couldn’t find any)
1) There’s a funny smell on the brush so I would suggest you to wash it first before using.
2) The powder is lightly scented. I couldn’t find the exact word for the scent but I don’t like it. Just hold you breath when you’re working with the brush near your nose? Lol.

I would definitely re-purchase this trial set when I finished this! It makes my makeup look so matte and I only need to blot maybe one to two times when I work and I need not worried about my face looking shiny all day long.

Make Up - Eyes Maybelline Review: Make Up Watsons

Review: Maybelline NEW HyperSharp Liner

I jumped onto the 60% discount sales bandwagon from Watsons yesterday and came home with these! I whatsapp Monica in the morning about Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover and she asked me a favor to help her to grab 2 bottles as she’s at her hometown.

(1) 2 bottles of Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover 70ml – RM6.76 each after 60% discount for Monica
(2) ZA Ever Brows #BR 21 – RM10.36 after 60% discount
(3) Maybelline HyperSharp Liner – RM23.80 (New product!)

Along with this I also grabbed the new product from Maybelline which is their highly raved HyperSharp Liner. To be frank I’m not a Maybelline, L’Oréal or Revlon fan when it comes to waterproof mascara or eyeliner. I had bad experience years back. But I’ve been reading reviews on this new liquid eyeliner and it sounded good. Although the reviews available are just a handful but I was sold.

Maybelline HyperSharp Liner – RM23.80
100% Smudge Proof, Water Proof!

It’s light weighted with simple gold and black packaging although I secretly hope that the cap is made from more sturdier good quality material. Anyhow I love the superfine 0.05 mm tip!!

As the piece is totally brand new, I drew this swatch 3 times on the back of my hand.

I waited for it to dry and I did a water-running test! As you can see the swatch on my hand show no sign of fading or smudging.

Next test. I dabbed and wiped dry with a tissue paper. Still no sign of fading or a slight colour transfer on the tissue. I’m amazed.

Then I dabbed some Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover on a cotton pad for the next test. . . removing it!

After 8 times of gentle wiping, I got the eyeliner totally off from my hand. With harder wipes I think you can get it off by 3rd or 4th time.

I get too carried away with using it until I realise I drew a thick line! Gosh my eye looks HUGE.

You got to try this to experience it. At only RM23.80 retail price from Maybelline, this is certainly a worthy buy or you can say. . . a worthy try!
