I love a good ol’ matte lipstick. It is the only thing I wear on my lip these days. Sometimes a full-on matte lipstick can be drying and accentuating all the cracks and wrinkles on the lips. Yes they can be long lasting but it will starts to get uncomfortable as the hour went by.

Jumping on the matte lipstick bandwagon is none other than Mary Kay. They recently came out with Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick that comes with a somewhat gel-like lip cushioning formula. All together there are eight shades to choose from – Bashful You, Rich Truffle, Mauve Moment, Powerful Pink, Always Apricot, Poppy Please, Crushed Berry, and Midnight Red. I am going to show you four out of the eight shades. So you will get to see how these four completely different shade family fares on my darker lip tone. I first spotted the L’Oréal Lucent Magique Cushion Glow Blush at Guardian store almost three months ago, together with a few other L’Oréal new products. The idea of a cushion blush is really intriguing especially now that everything is ‘cushionized’ 😀 . Did I pick it up on the spot? Nope. The price of RM49.90 is the reason why. I have a whole box of new blushes at home and having to spend 50 bucks for a new blush is just not my priority at that time. I am glad I did not pick any up as L’Oréal gave me one at the L’Oréal Paris Makeup Designer new tagline and product launch.

Matte liquid lip is in trend. It is so highly sought after that almost every brand came out with something. And that makes every girl run for their life to the nearest store to get it. Silkygirl, our very own local brand too jump onto the whole matte liquid lip bandwagon with the release of Matte Junkie Lip Cream. When I found out about this from Instagram, it took me a few weeks to remember to check on it. And when I do, I could not find it anywhere! Then the chase begun. Everyone I know was literally hunting for it. I was told that it was sold out everywhere. Why am I not even surprised? Everyone from every corner including their mother and grandmother bought it. Hence the limited stock available. I gave up searching for it until one day I went to One Utama for lunch with my friend Charmaine and we walked pass a secluded Guardian store. I walked in randomly without any high hope that I will find anything. Guardian is my favourite drugstore to visit as they carry Catrice, which is my favourite drugstore brand at the moment. But voila! All the tester seems new and untouched and every single shades are fully stocked up. I love secluded store LOL.

I said interesting because Skinsoul is a beauty store and LG floor is mainly occupied by F&B and lifestyle stores. Brilliant as LG floor is also the most crowded floor of all. Most beauty enthusiasts already know and aware who Skinsoul are. Yes it is a beauty brand BUT I learnt that Skinsoul is actually different from most beauty brands. Skinsoul refer their cosmetic products as “aesthetic cosmetics” as it has the same fast and efficacy results as aesthetic treatments. I will get on to that more later 😉

Strangely the store’s logo resembles Uniqlo. They even had the dupe for some Uniqlo products. Hah!
